Commission of Inquiry into Allegations regarding Efforts or Attempts Having Been Made to Stop Investigation or Prosecution of TRC Cases
After apartheid, the TRC gave many people amnesty — but only if they told the full truth. Those who did NOT get amnesty were supposed to be prosecuted. Thirty years later, almost none of them have been. This commission is investigating whether powerful people have been deliberately blocking those prosecutions.
