Commission of Inquiry into Tax Administration and Governance by SARS
The South African Revenue Service — the people who collect taxes — was being run badly. Important investigators who caught tax cheats were fired. The person in charge, Tom Moyane, was accused of destroying SARS from the inside. This commission investigated what happened.

Found that Moyane had caused serious damage to SARS. Recommended his removal and institutional reforms. Ramaphosa acted on the recommendations. Moyane was fired. SARS began to recover under Edward Kieswetter.
