Chief Operations Officer of the SABC from 2014 to 2017 under President Zuma. Found by the Public Protector to have abused his power, awarded himself unlawful pay rises and dismissed senior journalists for editorial reasons. Subject of the SABC Board Inquiry parliamentary committee (2017) and subsequently of SIU Proclamation R01 of 2019 and Special Tribunal case GP01/2021, in which the Tribunal ordered him to repay millions in irregular bonuses.
